Tour Description

Three full-day jeep safaris take you deep into Wilpattu, Yala, and the elephant-rich plains of Habarana, where leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and some of the finest birdlife in Asia share the same landscape. A guided trek through Sinharaja Rainforest — Sri Lanka's last surviving primary rainforest — reveals a completely different world of rare endemic species found nowhere else on earth. Between safaris, the misty plateau of Horton Plains, the world-famous hill country train ride, and five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, add culture, heritage, and highland beauty to the journey. The southern coast brings it all to a close — with sea turtle encounters, coral reef boat trips, and golden beach days before a final night in Colombo.

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where your Chauffeur Guide will meet you with a warm Sri Lankan welcome. Sit back and relax as you travel to Chilaw, a quiet coastal town close to the airport. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a calm evening by the sea after your long journey.

Day 1 – Arrival in Sri Lanka (Chilaw)

After breakfast, you check out and head to Wilpattu National Park for a full-day jeep safari. Sri Lanka's largest national park is one of the finest places on the island to spot the elusive leopard, along with sloth bears, elephants, and crocodiles. You retire to a nearby hotel as the sun goes down.

Day 2 – Wilpattu Safari (Full Day)

This morning, you depart Wilpattu and travel to Habarana, stopping en route to explore Anuradhapura. One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Anuradhapura served as the ancient capital of Sri Lanka for over a thousand years and remains one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Asia. You arrive in Habarana in the evening and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 – Habarana

The day is dedicated to a full-day jeep safari in Minneriya, Kaudulla, or Hurulu Eco Park — the guide will select the best option based on the season and elephant gathering patterns. In the late afternoon, a visit to Sigiriya awaits — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient rock fortress that once served as the royal palace of a 5th-century king. The evening brings a return to Habarana for a second overnight stay.

Day 4 – Habarana Safari (Full Day)

The journey to Kandy begins with a stop at the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple — a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing five ancient cave temples adorned with vivid ceiling paintings and over 150 Buddha statues. Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka and another UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist shrines in the world. The evening closes with a traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Day 5 – Kandy

After breakfast, the journey continues to Nuwara Eliya — Sri Lanka's charming central highlands, famously known as Little England. En route, a visit to a working tea factory reveals the full journey of world-famous Ceylon Tea, from the plucking of the finest leaves to the drying and rolling processes that create its signature flavour. The road then passes Ramboda Falls, a magnificent 109-metre cascade tumbling through lush tropical greenery, before arriving in Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.

Day 6 – Nuwara Eliya

After an early breakfast, the day begins with a journey to Horton Plains — a quiet highland plateau wrapped in mist and cool mountain air. Home to sambar deer, purple-faced langurs, and a remarkable variety of endemic birds, the plains offer wildlife encounters of a very different kind from the lowland parks. A gentle trek across open grasslands, forest patches, and dramatic viewpoints makes for a peaceful and memorable morning. The evening brings a return to Nuwara Eliya for a second overnight stay.

Day 7 – Nuwara Eliya (Horton Plains Trekking)

After breakfast, the journey continues from Nuwara Eliya to Ella aboard one of the world's most scenic train rides. The route winds through Sri Lanka's breathtaking hill country — past tea estates, rolling valleys, and misty mountain views — arriving in the charming town of Ella, one of the most iconic and beloved destinations in the island's highlands.

Day 8 – Ella

The day is free to explore Ella at its own pace. A walk up Little Adam's Peak rewards with sweeping views across the valley, while the famous Nine Arch Bridge — best seen as a train passes through — is one of Sri Lanka's most photographed sights. Ravana Falls, one of the widest cascades on the island, is a short drive away and well worth the visit. Ella's small town centre, with its cafés, local restaurants, and relaxed atmosphere, makes for a pleasant evening to end the day.

Day 9 – Ella

The day is dedicated to a full-day jeep safari in Yala National Park — Sri Lanka's premier wildlife destination and one of the highest leopard-density reserves in the world. Yala offers thrilling encounters with leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and crocodiles across its vast and varied landscape. The evening brings a check-in at a nearby hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10 – Yala Safari (Full Day)

After breakfast, the journey continues to Tangalle — a quiet, unspoilt beach on Sri Lanka's southern coast. It is the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the sea, and rest after days of wildlife and highland adventures. Overnight stay at a nearby hotel.

Day 11 – Tangalle Beach

After breakfast, the journey continues from Tangalle to Weligama — one of Sri Lanka's most beloved coastal escapes. Known for its wide golden sands, calm waters, and the iconic sight of stilt fishermen at work, Weligama offers a relaxed and charming end to the day. Overnight stay at a nearby hotel.

Day 12 – Weligama Beach

After an early breakfast, the day begins with a guided trek through Sinharaja — Sri Lanka's last surviving primary rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking beneath a dense canopy of ancient trees, the forest reveals a remarkable world of rare plants, colourful endemic birds, and wildlife found nowhere else on earth. After the trek, check in at a hotel near the forest edge and spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the calm surroundings and fresh forest air.

Day 13 – Sinharaja Rain Forest Trekking

After breakfast, the journey continues to Bentota — one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated beach destinations. The afternoon offers a boat trip over vibrant coral reefs and a chance to encounter sea turtles both at a local hatchery and in their natural ocean habitat. For those seeking more activity, Bentota's beaches offer a wide range of water sports to enjoy at leisure. Overnight stay at a nearby hotel.

Day 14 – Bentota Beach

After breakfast, the journey concludes with a drive to Colombo — Sri Lanka's vibrant commercial capital. A guided city tour reveals the fascinating mix of modern life, colonial architecture, and rich cultural heritage that defines this dynamic city. A delicious seafood lunch can be arranged on request. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Day 15 – Colombo

The journey comes to an end with a final transfer to the airport. The chauffeur guide will be there to say a warm farewell — and to wish you safe travels home.
